Threshold Project, London

Central Saint Martins, Foundation in Design / Architecture and Spatial Design specialization                                                              2019

For this project, we were tasked with identifying an underutilized location in the neighborhood. I chose a site that was in a neglected state, with overgrown plants spilling out of the fence and obstructing the sidewalk. The area had a somber atmosphere due to the enclosing fence, but it held hidden beauty within its vegetation. My aim is to highlight this beauty by introducing more light into the site. To achieve this, I propose removing the fence and replacing it with colored plastic sheets. This choice of material offers durability over time compared to glass, which can break. Moreover, the plastic sheets will allow natural light to filter through, promoting the growth of the existing vegetation.

My vision is to create a space that captivates passersby, inviting them to relax and acting as a playground for children. By incorporating vibrant colors, the garden will become a standout feature, further enhancing the overall brightness of the area.
