In 2017, at Woodstock School, I had the privilege of being the Head Designer for the fall play "The Get Down," an adaptation of the Netflix series of the same name. Set in the late 70s, the play was adorned with graffiti pieces throughout the theater, creating an authentic atmosphere. To enhance the immersive experience, I devised an interactive setting, with the audience seated amongst the actors. This unique arrangement fostered a deeper connection between the story and the viewers, making it a truly unforgettable experience. Being part of this production allowed me to merge my passion for design and theater, emphasizing the importance of cohesive environments and the impact they have on storytelling. "The Get Down" remains a cherished memory, showcasing the power of creativity, teamwork, and the ability of art to transport us to different eras and captivate audiences.
